Day 2: Tadoussac → Quebec City
Date: October 22, 2025
- Boarding: 6:30 AM | Departure: 7:30 AM
- Expected Arrival in Québec City: 5:00 PM
This cruise begins with an exploration of the majestic Saguenay fjord, where you will be surrounded by towering cliffs, before heading toward Québec City. This time, you will cruise along the south shore, experiencing new and equally spectacular panoramic views! Here’s what you might see and experience along the way:
Saguenay Fjord
- Begin with a one-hour journey into the fjord, where towering cliffs painted in autumn hues—some reaching up to 450 meters—create a breathtaking landscape. Along the way, marvel at the famous Caribou-Qui-Pisse Falls, a cascade that appears to spring directly from the cliffs, adding a unique touch to this majestic setting.
- As you exit the fjord, spot the Haut-fond Prince Lighthouse, an emblem of Tadoussac affectionately known as the “Spinning Top” by locals. A little further, the Île Rouge Lighthouse, standing 15.5 meters tall, watches over the island that shares its name.
Île aux Lièvres
- Sail past Île aux Lièvres, a vast, untamed land nestled in the heart of the St. Lawrence River. Named in the 16th century by Jacques Cartier himself due to the abundance of hares on the island, it offers a striking contrast between the pastoral landscapes of Bas-Saint-Laurent and the imposing Charlevoix mountains that rise on the horizon.
- Just a kilometer away, a historical gem stands watch over the waters: the Brandy Pot Islands Lighthouse. Built in 1862 and designated a national historic site, it remained active until 1964. Today, it has been transformed into a charming guesthouse.
Picturesque Villages
- As your cruise continues, take in some of Québec’s most beautiful villages, including Rivière-du-Loup, Notre-Dame-du-Portage, Kamouraska, and L’Islet-sur-Mer. Majestic cliffs, ancestral homes, golden tidal flats, and colorful houses create an enchanting backdrop as you journey along the river.
Activities
- During the cruise, indulge in a digestif tasting, take part in a dance workshop, and immerse yourself in the history of Québec City with an engaging presentation.
Les Pèlerins Archipelago
- Sail alongside the Les Pèlerins Archipelago, a chain of five islands stretching over seven kilometers. This rugged cluster of small islands and rocky outcrops forms a landscape both picturesque and wild, serving as a natural habitat for a diverse array of bird species.
L’Isle-aux-Grues Archipelago & Grosse-Île
- Admire L’Isle-aux-Grues Archipelago, made up of 21 islands, each with its own fascinating past. Among them, Grosse-Île stands out for its poignant history: once a quarantine station in the 19th century, it remains a significant part of Québec’s heritage.
Île d’Orléans
- Cruise along the southern shores of Île d’Orléans and discover its most charming villages! Take in Saint-Jean-de-l’Île-d’Orléans, where a seaside cemetery stretches toward the tidal flats, nestled at the foot of a red-roofed church. Admire the picturesque village of Saint-Laurent, where traditional wooden houses line the waterfront, while farmlands cultivated since the 1660s highlight the island’s deep agricultural roots.
Arrival in Québec City
- As you approach Québec City, be captivated by the stunning panoramas of the historic capital and its iconic château rising on the horizon.
