What to expect during your getaway
Day 1: Montreal → Quebec City
Date: October 21, 2024

Experience an exceptional adventure aboard the AML Cavalier Maxim, departing from Montreal. Start your day with a delicious breakfast while enjoying the sunrise over the St. Lawrence River.
Throughout the cruise, be captivated by the stories of our experienced guide who will reveal the secrets of the river. For your enjoyment, you will attend two lectures on the history of the St. Lawrence River, a wine tasting led by our sommelier, and a surprise activity in the afternoon.
Sail along breathtaking views, including the Old Port, the Clock Tower, and the Jacques-Cartier Bridge. Explore Quebec’s natural and cultural wonders, such as the Îles-de-Boucherville National Park, and admire Lake Saint-Pierre and its archipelago, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Cross the Laviolette Bridge, pass by Trois-Rivières, and take in the Quebec and Pierre-Laporte Bridges at Cap-Rouge. Conclude your day with a stunning view of Château Frontenac upon your arrival in Quebec City.

Day 2: Quebec City → Charlevoix → Tadoussac

Start your day with a morning transfer from Hôtel Le Concorde to Quai Chouinard, where you will embark on an unforgettable cruise to discover the majestic whales of the St. Lawrence River. As soon as you board, enjoy a delicious breakfast while taking in breathtaking views of Quebec City.
You will then be greeted by the scenic views of Île d’Orléans, with its orchards and traditional houses. As your journey continues, you will be amazed by the stunning panoramas of Mont-Sainte-Anne and Côte-de-Beaupré.
You will also pass by Montmorency Falls, where you will be able to admire the impressive flow of the waters. Further along, Cap-Tourmente Reserve will offer a unique natural spectacle as the white geese make their final migratory stop.
To satisfy your culinary cravings, the day continues with a refined dinner and a second wine tasting workshop.
As you travel along Charlevoix region, the colorful mountains plunge into the river, providing breathtaking scenery. A panoramic view of Isle-aux-Coudres marks another picturesque stop before reaching the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord, the world’s best whale-watching site!
Want to learn everything about these giants of the sea? An experienced naturalist will be onboard to share fascinating insights about humpback whales, common minke whales, and many others that you can observe in the heart of the marine park.
Arriving in Tadoussac, the most beautiful village in Quebec, is one of the highlights of the cruise. This historic location provides the perfect setting to conclude your day with a visit of the Marine Mammal Interpretation Center (CIMM). A shuttle will take you to the Chantmartin Motel, where you can rest for the night.
Day 3: Tadoussac → Saguenay Fjord

During the cruise from Tadoussac to Chicoutimi, you will pass through one of the most spectacular and unique regions in Quebec: the Saguenay Fjord. Here is what you can expect and experience along the way:
Departure from Tadoussac
- Saguenay Fjord: The towering cliffs of the fjord, painted in autumn colors and reaching heights of up to 400 meters, offer a breathtaking landscape. Along the way, you will spot the famous “Caribou-Qui-Pisse waterfall”, a waterfall that seems to spring directly from the cliffs, adding a unique touch to this majestic scenery.
Caps Éternité and Trinité
- Stunning Views: Sail between these iconic cliffs and admire the statue of Notre-Dame-du-Saguenay perched 180 meters above the water.
Baie des Ha! Ha!

After exploring the wonders of the Saguenay Fjord and staying in Chicoutimi, your journey continues with a comfortable coach ride back to Montreal.
